This tutorial will introduce you to in Elastic Path Commerce 6.1's Multi-Store capabilities.

What you will learn

  • Add languages and currencies to a catalog.
  • Create a virtual catalog.
  • Add linked categories.
  • Localize product categories, product content and the storefront.

Background

Multi-stores refers to having two or more storefronts based one master catalog. For example, your company might want to manage separate electronics and clothing stores from a single catalog. To do this using Multi-stores, you could put all your products into one Master catalog, create a virtual catalog to manage the electronics products, and another to manage the clothing products. You would then create "electronics" and "clothing" storefronts and populate them with products from the corresponding virtual catalogs.

This tutorial will guide you through the creation of a third store called "Clicky Mart" which supports multiple languages and currencies (English, French, and Spanish). Clicky Mart will also support multiple currencies, including the Euro, and will be linked to a virtual catalog that contains a subset of the Snap It Up catalog.

Prerequisites

Elastic Path Commerce 6.1 trial installation.

Caution
  • If you have previously done the Creating a Store tutorial, delete the Camera Store created during that tutorial from the Stores listing in Commerce Manager, before beginning this tutorial.
  • You can complete this tutorial working with a full installation (non-Trial version) of Elastic Path Commerce 6.1, however, you must make sure the Snap It Up demo store is installed. You must also run all catalog and inventory import jobs.
